Solar PV for Electricians is designed for electricians and journeymen to who want to learn the details of PV system electrical design and installation. The course covers the basics of how solar works and what affects the output of solar panels as well as advanced PV design calculations for inverter string sizing, overcurrent protection and voltage drop.
The class provides detailed information on NEC Code for solar as it applies to wire and conduit sizing, system grounding and PV specific rules. Students will also be given an introduction to the basics of site evaluation and shade analysis tools. The training includes a hands-on project where students will install a complete PV system in the classroom.
