SOLAR PV DESIGN AND INSTALLATION
5 Day Solar Course
Students learn how solar photovoltaic (PV) systems operate as well as basic system design and safety practices. The course covers basic electrical terminology, solar fundamentals, detailed discussion of system components, string sizing, site evaluation, shade analysis, system sizing, overcurrent protection, grounding, electrical and mechanical design considerations and OSHA safety standards. The training includes a hands-on project where students will install a complete PV system in the classroom. This course will prepare the students for the NABCEP Entry Level Exam which will be proctored at the end of class. This is an ISPQ accredited course.
Ambassador Energy Safety Net: If you do not pass the Entry Level Exam on your first try, you can come through the class a second time within one year and re-test for just $200 if you bring your original textbook.
This class is offered as a 1 week course (five consecutive days Monday – Friday) or on Fridays for 5 consecutive weeks to help accommodate the schedules of busy professionals. See course calendar for details.

ADVANCED PV TECHNICAL SALES
2 Day Solar Course
Students learn the intricacies of selling solar and what affects the system costs and customer savings. The course covers basic solar fundamentals, site evaluation, shade analysis, consumer electric rates, benefits of PV, return on investment, system sizing and electrical and mechanical design considerations. This course is designed to assist students who are planning to take the NABCEP PV Technical Sales Exam. It is recommended that less experienced students take the 5 day Solar PV Design and Installation course prior to taking this more advanced class.

2 Day Solar Course
Students learn the details of solar PV system design and NEC Code. The course covers NEC Code for solar, site evaluation, string sizing, overcurrent protection, conduit, wiring, batteries, grounding and OSHA safety standards. This course is designed to assist students who are planning to take the NABCEP PV Installer Exam. It is recommended that all students take the 5 day Solar PV Design and Installation or an equivalent course prior to taking this more advanced class.

3 Day Solar Course
Students learn the details of solar PV system design and installation per NEC Code. The course covers NEC Code for solar, site evaluation, string sizing, overcurrent protection sizing and placement, conduit, wiring, batteries, grounding, wind loads, troubleshooting, system maintenance and OSHA safety standards. This course counts for all 18 hours of continuing education credit for NABCEP Certified PV Installers (including 6 hours of NEC Code training). This class would also help prepare candidates for the NABCEP PV Installer Exam. The training includes a hands-on project where students will install a complete PV system in the classroom. It is recommended that all students take the 5 day Solar PV Design and Installation or an equivalent course prior to taking this more advanced class.

1 Day Solar Course
This training course is designed for electricians and journeymen to who want to learn the details of solar PV system electrical design and installation. The course covers the basics of how solar works and what affects the output of solar panels as well as advanced PV design calculations for inverter string sizing, overcurrent protection and voltage drop. The class provides detailed information on NEC Code for solar as it applies to wire and conduit sizing, system grounding and PV specific rules. Students will also be given an introduction to the basics of site evaluation and shade analysis tools. The training includes a hands-on project where students will install a complete PV system in the classroom.
