Solar PV Design and Installation – 5 Day

 

Students learn how photovoltaic (PV) systems operate as well as basic system design and safety practices. The course covers basic electrical terminology, solar fundamentals, detailed discussion of system components, string sizing, site evaluation, shade analysis, system sizing, overcurrent protection, grounding, electrical and mechanical design considerations and OSHA safety standards. The training includes a hands-on project where students will install a complete PV system in the classroom. This course will prepare the students for the NABCEP Entry Level Exam which will be proctored at the end of class. This is an ISPQ accredited course that can also count as 32 hours of the training requirements to qualify for the NABCEP PV Installer and NABCEP PV Technical Sales exams.

This class is offered as a 1 week course (five consecutive days Monday – Friday) or on Fridays for 5 consecutive weeks to help accommodate the schedules of busy professionals. See course calendar for details.
